BanglaAl-Qamar (The Moon) - سورة القمر
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
The Hour has come closer, and the moon has split.
وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ (۲)
Then they saw a miracle; but they turned away and said, "Old magic."
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِرٌّ (۳)
They disbelieved, followed their opinions, and adhered to their old traditions.
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ (٤)
Sufficient warnings have been delivered to alert them.
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ (۵)
Great wisdom; but all the warnings have been in vain.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ (٦)
Ignore them; the day will come when the caller will announce a terrible disaster.
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنْتَشِرٌ (۷)
With their eyes humiliated, they come out of the graves like scattered locusts.
مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ (۸)
As they respond to the caller, the disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult day."
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ (۹)
The people of Noah disbelieved before them. They disbelieved our servant and said, "Crazy!" He was persecuted.
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ (۱۰)
He implored his Lord, "I am oppressed; grant me victory."
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُنْهَمِرٍ (۱۱)
We then opened the gates of the sky, pouring water.
وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَىٰ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ (۱۲)
And we caused springs to gush out of the earth. The waters met to effect a predetermined decision.
وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ (۱۳)
We carried him on a watercraft made of logs and ropes.
تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاءً لِمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ (۱٤)
It ran under our watchful eyes; a reward for one who was rejected.
وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ (۱۵)
We have set it up as a lesson. Does any of you wish to learn?
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ (۱٦)
How terrible was My retribution after the warnings!
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ (۱۷)
We made the Quran easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ (۱۸)
`Aad disbelieved. Consequently, how terrible was My retribution after the warnings.
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِرٍّ (۱۹)
We sent upon them violent winds, on a day of continuous misery.
تَنْزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُنْقَعِرٍ (۲۰)
It tossed the people around as if they were decayed palm tree trunks.
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ (۲۱)
How terrible was My retribution after the warnings!
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ (۲۲)
We made the Quran easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?
فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِنَّا وَاحِدًا نَتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ (۲٤)
They said, "Shall we follow one of us; a human being? We will then go astray, then end up in Hell.
أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ (۲۵)
"Did the message come down to him, instead of us? He is a flagrant liar."
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ (۲٦)
They will find out tomorrow who the flagrant liar is.
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ (۲۷)
We are sending the camel as a test for them. Watch them and be patient.
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُحْتَضَرٌ (۲۸)
Inform them that the water shall be divided among them; (the camel) shall be allowed to drink on her designated day.
فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ (۲۹)
But they persuaded their friend to kill (the camel), and he obliged.
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ (۳۰)
Consequently, how terrible was My retribution! They have been warned.
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ (۳۱)
We sent upon them one blow, whereupon they became like harvested hay.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ (۳۲)
We made the Quran easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ نَجَّيْنَاهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ (۳٤)
We showered them with rocks. Only Lot's family was saved at dawn.
نِعْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ شَكَرَ (۳۵)
We blessed him and his family; we thus reward the appreciative.
وَلَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ (۳٦)
He warned them about our requital, but they ridiculed the warnings.
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَنْ ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ (۳۷)
They negotiated with him about his guests; we blinded them. Suffer My retribution; you have been warned.
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُسْتَقِرٌّ (۳۸)
Early the next morning, a devastating retribution struck them.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ (٤۰)
We made the Quran easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?
كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ (٤۲)
They rejected all our signs. Consequently, we requited them as an Almighty, Omnipotent should.
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُولَٰئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ (٤۳)
Are your disbelievers better than those disbelievers? Have you been absolved by the scripture?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُنْتَصِرٌ (٤٤)
Perhaps they think, "We will be the winners."
سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ (٤۵)
All of them will be defeated; they will turn around and flee.
بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ (٤٦)
The Hour is awaiting them, and the Hour is far worse and more painful.
إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ (٤۷)
Certainly, the guilty are astray, and will end up in Hell.
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ (٤۸)
They will be dragged into the hellfire, forcibly. Suffer the agony of retribution.
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ (٤۹)
Everything we created is precisely measured.
وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ (۵۰)
Our commands are done within the blink of an eye.
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ (۵۱)
We annihilated your counterparts. Does any of you wish to learn?
وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ (۵۲)
Everything they did is recorded in the scriptures.
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ (۵٤)
Surely, the righteous have deserved gardens and rivers.
